Establishing a Unified Voice for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) in California

The Power of a Unified Voice

Led by the CalChamber, the California Carbon Partnership (CCP) is a diverse coalition dedicated to advocating and educating for the urgent and rapid deployment of carbon capture and storage (CCS) as an essential bridge technology to help the state meet its 2045 carbon neutrality goals.

Roads to Removal: Options for Carbon Dioxide Removal in the United States

There is an urgent need to remove carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere to ensure climate security and resilience. In 2022, the United States set a goal of developing carbon dioxide removal (CDR) pathways that will remove CO2 from the atmosphere and store it at the gigaton scale (at least a billion tonnes per year).

An Essential Tool to Achieve Carbon Neutrality in California

The California Air Resources Board’s Scoping Plan – a roadmap to achieving carbon neutrality by 2045 — recognizes CCS as “an essential tool” to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and meeting our climate goals. The successful deployment of CCS around the world showcases its scalability and adaptability. California is uniquely positioned to leverage this global experience, integrating CCS into its hard-to-decarbonize sectors to lower emissions.
